What Is Tai Chi and how it can benefit you?
Tai Chi is a practice of moving vital energy (Chi) during which the practitioner develops relaxation and concentration. One can say that it is an internal martial art where you can meditate in motion. Its benefits are numerous, and have been studied by reputable universities in the West. In this respect the book is available:Harvard Medical School Guide to Tai Chi – 12 Weeks to a Healthy Body, Mind Sharp & Strong Heart.
According to this study, regular Tai Chi practice can promote:
√ muscle strength: “Although you aren’t working with weights or resistance bands, the unsupported arm exercise involved in tai chi strengthens your upper body,” says internist Dr. Gloria Yeh, an assistant professor at Harvard Medical School. “Tai chi strengthens both the lower and upper extremities and also the core muscles of the back and abdomen.”
√ flexibility: Women in the 2006 Stanford study significantly boosted upper- and lower-body flexibility as well as strength
√ balance: Tai chi improves balance and, according to some studies, reduces falls. Proprioception — the ability to sense the position of one’s body in space — declines with age. Tai chi helps train this sense, which is a function of sensory neurons in the inner ear and stretch receptors in the muscles and ligaments
√ aerobic conditioning: Depending on the speed and size of the movements, tai chi can provide some aerobic benefits.

What is Qi Qong and how it can benefit you?
This Chinese origin term refers to work or exercise cultivation of energy. These exercises are designed to stimulate and promote better circulation of qi (vital energy) in the body.
Several scientific studies on Qi Qong effectiveness are currently being held. During the early years of the 1970s pioneering research on Qigong were performed. These studies have proven Qi Qong’s effects on the human body and the existence of “Qi” through Western scientific methods. Among these studies stands the Gu Lin Houshen and Hansen, Institute of Qigong and Chinese Medicine of Shanghai, which proved that Qi can be measured by infrared sensors. Their results were accepted and discussed with enthusiasm by most of the international scientific community.
There are several systems of Qi Qong, but they all have benefits for health and wellbeing.
